Industrial Visit

Management is all about practical implications of the theoretical concepts. Hence, students are required to have industrial visits besides their classes in order to have a thorough understanding of the Industrial Modus – Operandi. BBA department of Salesian College Siliguri visited to ‘Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Private Limited’ Industry at Raninagar, in Jalpaiguri district on November 10, 2017. Thirty first year students of the department accompanied by Mr Shomik Saha (HoD) and Dr Dipankar Rudra had their first Industrial Experience.
Mr Kalyan, HR Business Partner and Mr Rudhra Thakur, Product and Quality Manager introduced them into the factory systems. The students came to know the historical background of Coca Cola products offered worldwide, quality standards, production activities in the plant and the production capacity. They produce 1620 bottles per minute and dispatch 1 lakh bottles per day. The corporate social responsibility of the organisation was also shared with the students; that includes recycling of Kinley bottles for making toys, rain water harvesting, women empowerment through Sangati and Pragati, and training disabled people to work in the factory.
A question and answer session was organised at the end of the visit along with fresh cold drinks being served by the plant manager. The students left the plant by 1:20 pm, happy and enriched with the visit.
